You have to do your best, put your best foot forward, and shine a light on ALL you can do. There is no half-stepping involved. There is no getting by because there’s someone out there who is NOT half-stepping, who wants it really bad, and is pulling all the stops while you think you can merely skate through with mediocre work.

No, go hard, but not more than your best. Don’t say that something is your best because you don’t feel like doing it anymore. Let it be your best because you left no stone unturned. You did the research, you dotted all the I’s and crossed all the t’s. You talked to whoever you needed to talk to.

You are intelligent, resourceful, creative, beautiful, and can get it done. Use those assets. Hone them and show them that you’re worth it. Say yes now and then figure it out. Don’t be afraid or shy away from being in the front. Go there and stay there.
